I'm pretty lucky in that I love the work that I do. I love climbing big trees and taking in the surroundings. We're fortunate to live in the Adelaide Hills which is has a lot of big trees and beautiful landscapes.

This Ulmus parvifolia (Chinese Elm) was one of two on site that required a little attention.

This bigger one had a failed co-dominant stem, so I reduced it back by about 30%. And I thinned out the upper canopy in areas of really thick growth.

The helpful customer helped out with the ground work on the day. He owns his on business Quality Caretakers, based in Mount Barker in the Adelaide Hills, where he handles all aspects of home and yard clearing and maintenance.

You can visit his website at qualitycaretakers.com.au or look him up on his socials @qualitycaretakers.

We love to support small, local businesses, just as they support us!

The Chinese Elm is a species of tree native to eastern Asia that grows up 10-18m high and 15-20m wide! That's big and shady! Like most introduced species, it is a deciduous tree. It's timber is remarkably hard and tough, which makes it perfect for making handles and things like baseball bats!

So if you're looking to replace your Chinese Elm with an evergreen, native species of tree and you're a bit of a woodworking hobbyist, consider keeping some of the timber to use!

If you have an Elm tree that needs so attention or you'd like to have yours removed altogether, we're definitely able to do this for you. Dan is experienced, insured and a qualified Arborist!
